Many of our supporters have asked us whether we are still able to provide assistance to the people of Gaza. The answer is yes, and an ongoing food distribution effort with the United Nations Relief Works Agency is one example of how.

Our UNRWA colleagues in the region have confirmed that all 18.5 tons of rice casserole shipped with your support have been distributed to 19,334 of the neediest families in Gaza.

"I am glad to tell you that UPA Rice Casserole shipment has been successfully delivered by UNRWA Gaza Field Office to Palestininan refugees in Jabalia," our UNRWA liaison wrote in a February 14, 2008 email.

The 47,333 bags of food were distributed to "special hardship cases," with 12,333 families of one to five persons receiving two bags each, and 7,001 families of six or more persons receiving three bags each.

"I take this opportunty to thank you for your kind contribution that helped alleviate the difficult living conditions of Palestinian refugees in Gaza; we are grateful for the support you provide to our work during these difficult times in Gaza."
