Iqraa (“Read”) is forming a team to run the Marine Corp Marathon and Baltimore Running Festival half-marathon next October and, as a member of the Marathon Charity Partners, to raise funds for UPA education programs.

This will be the first Marathon team in the Washington-Baltimore metro area formed specifically to support Palestinian education. It’s not too late to join!

The new Iqraa group pledges to provide the necessary training to enable even first-time runners to successfully complete the Baltimore Running Festival half-marathon on October 11 or the Marine Corp Marathon on October 26, 2008. In return Iqraa is asking for its runners’ commitment to raise funds that will help educate young Palestinians.

To learn more about this great opportunity, please attend our info sessions on Saturday, April 12 at 1 pm, or Saturday, April 26 at 1 pm, at the offices of United Palestinian Appeal in Dupont Circle. Refreshments will be provided.

Training will begin in May, so don’t delay.
