What Are Organizers Saying?House Parties
"Even if other people are putting on an event, still do your own if you think you can bring out a crowd. Multiple effective events are better than one. Coordinate with universities. That is probably the one most important thing. Most of us poets, actors, comedians, musicians are either full time or trying to be full time, and universities can easily fill the financial void: travel, lodging and honorariums."
—Remi Kenazi
One of the most effective kinds of events is to have a small group over to your house for coffee, a short documentary and conversation. Larger scale home events, if you have the space, are also good. Try and find a local musician to play. Have Arabic food available with a donation box. Download and print out UPA materials. Have a laptop ready to show people UPA's website.
Make headlines in your community by turning what you love to do into an opportunity to raise money and awareness for the work of the United Palestinian Appeal!
